POSITION: Project Manager, Environmental Training Program
Description of Duties:
Organizes and directs all activities for Environmental Training Programs to include course development for coursework related to Water Systems, Wastewater Systems, new and Emerging Technologies, Cybersecurity and Water Systems and other types of programs affiliated with Environmental Training. The employee must exercise extensive initiative and independent judgement in solving problems as they develop in order to maintain the continuous effective, efficient operation of a training program and associated events. Work is also reviewed through conferences, reports and observations of the operational success of the program and achievement of objectives. Ensure that training around Water treatment, Wastewater Treatment and new technologies complies with the Environmental Protection Agency and OK DEQ. Coordinates with DEQ and other related associations/industry partners to ensure Center is maximizing its capabilities and maintaining a relevant posture. Oversee the daily activities of the Public Utilities Department Divisions; establishes operational and administrative policies, confers with and advises staff. Provides operational administrative support to the VP and Coordinator; assists in the preparation of an operational budget. Works with the VP and Coordinator to affect strategic planning, policies and procedures and direction to be taken as related to timing and processes for programming expansion. Establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with work colleagues, supervisors and managers. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, science or business administration. Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in utility operations including three (3) years in a supervisory or administrative capacity, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Additional education and experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for above requirements. The bachelor's degree may not be substituted. Light lifting up to 10 lbs. and light carrying up to 10 lbs. required. Ability to reach above shoulder. Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending and stooping. Mobility to move from building to building on-campus and to visit off-campus sites/facilities.
Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in engineering, science or business administration; supplemented by ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in utility operations including at least five (5) years in a supervisory or administrative capacity, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
