- SUMMARY OF INCREDIBLE LEAVE/PAID TIME OFF: 3 Weeks Annual Leave for all FT non-faculty employees (Balance can be carried into next year); 3 Weeks Sick Leave and 1 Week Discretionary Leave for all FT employees; 1 Week Spring Break; 1 Week Thanksgiving/Fall Break; 1 Week Winter Holiday Break (it is usually a couple days MORE) all adds up to 9 Weeks. Add in 8-plus days off for Fridays in June and July and 4 other campus-closures for observation of holidays and it all adds up to 12 WEEKS of PAID TIME OFF! POSITION: Administrative Assistant II, EmPower Program (Temporary, STF)
Description of Duties: Perform clerical and administrative duties required for the operation of a college business or instructional office. Receive and route incoming telephone calls, take messages, and schedule appointments. Greet and provide information to employees and office visitors. Develop and maintain a comprehensive filing system. Maintain office supplies and materials. Perform information and data research for office reports. Type memorandums, letters, reports, instructional materials and other business correspondence. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. Receive, sort, and distribute mail. Serve as recording secretary at meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. May supervise hourly and/or work study employees. Work under limited supervision. Receive training and guidelines from a designated supervisor
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of office, clerical or customer service related experience. Accurate proofreading and editing skills. Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficiency with computers and MS Office (Word and Outlook). Light carrying up to 10 lbs. and light lifting up to 10 lbs. required. Ability to reach above shoulder. Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending and stooping.
Desired Qualifications: Associate's Degree or equivalent. Three years of office, clerical or customer service related experience.
