PART-TIME HOURLY POSITION ANNOUNCES AN OPENING IN ACADEMIC AFFAIRS BUSINESS DIVISION/COMPUTER LAB
POSITION: Hardware Support Technician (Part-Time)
Description of Duties:
Responsible for maintaining and monitoring the effective operation of computer labs while providing assistance to students, faculty, and staff. Assist students and faculty with computer operation issues and questions. Assist students and faculty with programming languages and/or commercial software packages. Assist faculty with lab classes and computer-related projects. Install and update computer software and equipment. Perform hardware/software maintenance in the classroom and the lab area. Troubleshoot hardware/software problems in the computer lab and report complex technical problems to Information Technology Services. Prepare and submit reports on the lab, its usage, and equipment as directed. Perform other duties as assigned. Hours will vary between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This is a part-time hourly position with variable work hours not to exceed 20 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications:
Two years computer related experience. Knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Technical expertise in working with personal computers. Working knowledge of programming languages, software applications, and networking. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Desired Qualifications:
Associate's degree in computer related field. Technical Expertise in working with networks. Prior supervisory experience. Two years computer-related experience preferably in a computer lab or college environment.
