- SUMMARY OF INCREDIBLE LEAVE/PAID TIME OFF: 3 Weeks Annual Leave for all FT non-faculty employees (Balance can be carried into next year); 3 Weeks Sick Leave and 1 Week Discretionary Leave for all FT employees; 1 Week Spring Break; 1 Week Thanksgiving/Fall Break; 1 Week Winter Holiday Break (it is usually a couple days MORE) all adds up to 9 Weeks. Add in 8-plus days off for Fridays in June and July and 4 other campus-closures for observation of holidays and it all adds up to 12 WEEKS of PAID TIME OFF! POSITION: Maintenance Worker - Grounds (2 vacancies)
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Perform general maintenance and work on Campus buildings and grounds. Perform a variety of general maintenance and grounds keeping duties. Plant, cultivate, water, weed and prune Campus grounds, trees, flowers and shrubbery. Operate general landscaping equipment such front-end loaders, backhoes, chainsaws, edgers and weed trimmers. Perform maintenance and upkeep of tools and equipment utilized to perform duties. Remove trash and debris from grounds, sidewalks, driveways and parking areas. Ensure appearance and safety of all Campus areas. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent. Six months experience skilled labor, grounds or building maintenance. Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs and carrying up to 50 lbs Must be able to work outside in both hot and cold weather. Ability to reach above shoulder.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Some vocational training. One year experience in grounds maintenance Must be able to work outside in both hot and cold weather. Ability to operate grounds-related equipment including front-end loaders and zero turn mowers.
