- SUMMARY OF INCREDIBLE LEAVE/PAID TIME OFF: 3 Weeks Annual Leave for all FT non-faculty employees (Balance can be carried into next year); 3 Weeks Sick Leave and 1 Week Discretionary Leave for all FT employees; 1 Week Spring Break; 1 Week Thanksgiving/Fall Break; 1 Week Winter Holiday Break (it is usually a couple days MORE) all adds up to 9 Weeks. POSITION: Sponsored Programs Specialist (Temp, STF)
Description of Duties: Rose State College seeks an outgoing and highly motivated individual to expand our efforts in Sponsored Programs. This position serves as a vital link between the college and external funding sources to advance educational and community engagement initiatives. The Sponsored Programs Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering, facilitating, and managing all aspects of Sponsored Projects and grant activities at Rose State College. This position will identify potential funding sources and external collaboration opportunities, and this position will support faculty and staff in grant proposal development, maintain accurate records of Sponsored Programs activities, and assist in the administration of awarded grants. Identify opportunities for collaborative grant initiatives and partnerships. Build and foster relationships between the college and external funding agencies, community partners, and industry stakeholders. Facilitate efforts to guide faculty and staff through the process of identifying funding opportunities and developing competitive grant proposals. Provide support in the preparation of grant application documents, including budgets, narratives, and compliance documentation. Assist in proposal submission processes, ensuring all requirements and deadlines are met. Promote awareness of grant opportunities and resources available to the college community. Represent the college at meetings, workshops, and conferences related to sponsored projects. Organize training sessions and workshops to enhance faculty and staff's grant development and management skills. Stay updated on federal, state, and local regulations and funding agency guidelines, and ensure compliance for all sponsored projects, and stay current with trends and best practices in sponsored projects administration. Maintain files, records, and documentation associated with sponsored projects in accordance with college and funding agency policies.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma and 4-years' experience in higher education or managing sponsored programs -OR- Associates Degree and 2-years' experience in higher education or managing sponsored programs -OR- Bachelor's Degree. An ability to excel in roles that involve networking and leveraging one's communication skills to build relationships, motivate teams, and achieve success in collaborative environments. Excellent oral/written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel). Ability to multi-task, adhere to strict deadlines and be attentive to detail. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Ability to work individually and as a member of a team.
Desired Qualifications: Master's Degree; a degree or work experience in Science, Engineering, Technology, Cybersecurity, or Aerospace; grant writing experience; knowledge of regulations related to sponsored projects, budget development and financial management, experience in sponsored projects.
